As Christ Loved...

Just came home from a beautiful, Christ-honoring wedding. The pastor's exhortation and the groom's vows reminded me again of just how impossible this thing is, this loving our wives as Christ loved the church. It was a strange mixture of gratitude and guilt that filtered through my soul as I sat there. Gratitude for almost 20 years of marriage - a marriage that gets better and better - and guilt for how often my sinful selfishness and pride does it harm. Lately, I've been reading Randy Alcorn's book "Heaven". On page 121, he says "We will be revealed at our resurrection, when our adoption will be finalized and our bodies redeemed. We will be fully human, with righteous spirits and incorruptible bodies." To which I say, "Bring it on!".
